Confinement - a 3-syllable word meaning to be held within a location. Thanks to my roommate, I learned this word is actually
quite controversially. Here is an example where this word would
be used. In insurance plans that you and I buy, there would likely
be a part of the policy which talks about hospital confinement up
to a certain stoploss. The word confinement is used by insurance
companies because it is usually breezed over. There is no real
ambiguity about the word and therefore if theyare taken to suit
they would be safe. The problem is that sometimes people skip
over the word.
I am not taking a stand on the use of this word, but I just wanted
to give you a heads up. Those sneaky businessmen!!!
